Zaatar chicken

 Zaatar chicken is a delicious dish featuring chicken marinated with za'atar, a Middle Eastern spice blend made from thyme, oregano, sesame seeds, sumac, and salt. The chicken absorbs the earthy and aromatic flavors of za'atar, creating a flavorful and fragrant meal. It's often baked or grilled and can be served with rice, salad, or pita bread.

Here's a simple recipe for za'atar chicken:

Ingredients:

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts or thighs

  • 3 tbsp olive oil

  • 2 tbsp za'atar seasoning

  • 1 tbsp lemon juice

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • Salt and pepper to taste

  • Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Marinate the chicken: In a bowl, mix the olive oil, za'atar, lemon juice, garlic, salt, and pepper. Coat the chicken with the marinade and let it sit for at least 30 minutes, or up to 2 hours in the refrigerator for deeper flavor.

  2. Cook the chicken:

    • Grill: Preheat your grill to medium heat. Grill the chicken for about 5-7 minutes on each side or until cooked through.

    • Bake: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Place the chicken on a baking sheet and bake for 20-25 minutes or until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
